Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Mr. L. Murugan flagged off the freshly revamped renowned heritage train (Ooty train) at Mettupalayam Railway Station which runs between Mettupalayam and Udhagamandalam.

The newly revamped train consists of LED lighting, charging points, a public announcement system, modular seating, and improved suspension and braking systems to enhance comfort while enjoying the stunning scenery.
This new development by the Indian Railways Department in its revamped form has been introduced to efficiently cater to the increasing number of tourists and to elevate their travel experience.
